N.S.W. biggest rural cattle show is helping to promote small breeds of cattle by introducing a Small Breeds Interbreed to the show.
All small breeds are judged in their individual breed classes and the competition culminates with the judging of Supreme Junior and Senior Male and Female Small Breeds and then ultimately Supreme Small Breeds Exhibit of Show.
The North Coast National is usually held on the third weekend in October at Lismore Show Grounds .This show has a 127yrs of history behind it and is an extremely well run show.In 2012 there was a total of 530 head of Stud Beef cattle and 80 head of steers in the hoof and hook section. There where over 90 entries in Junior Paraders and 16 schools came with their show teams. The North Coast National also hosts the zone finals of the Junior Judging competition.
The North Coast National draws exhibitors from all over N.S.W. and southern Q.L.D.The Quality of the cattle is second to none.It is great to see a show such as this get behind the owners of small breeds by providing them with a great platform to exhibit and promote their cattle.Ultimately the continuation of the small breeds section will depend on your support by exhibiting your cattle this year and hopefully many more to come .This is a great opportunity for owners of small breeds to get together network and share experiences and knowledge ,which is one of the best parts of showing cattle. Info and entries available on line. Hope to see you all there. Phill Morrow Dragon Bridge Miniature Belted Galloway Stud.
